Under the direction of our Furniture Coordinator, Friends In Deed operates a large furniture program that matches donors with needy families. Volunteers operate the furniture phone line and provide pick-up and delivery in cases where the recipient is not able to pick up on their own.

Annual Holiday Bed Drive / Crib Drive

You can make a difference today by purchasing a new mattress, box spring, frame, and/or bedbug cover for a person without a healthy sleeping environment. A good night’s sleep is critical for the success of the individual worker, student, disabled individual or elderly person. Be a part of filling this critical need.

In addition to our regular bed drive, we are adding a new opportunity for you to help.

Due to recent federal regulations, nonprofit organizations can no longer give out used cribs. This has created a dire problem for our community. Friends In Deed is responding to this need by introducing a crib drive to our bed drive. Add a donation of $140 to your Bed Drive contribution to provide a new crib set for a baby in need!

Volunteer

We can always use volunteer help to pick up and deliver furniture. We provide the truck — a 16-foot cube truck with lift gate — and you and/or your group provide the muscle. No special license is required to drive the truck; we just need a copy of a driver’s license. We can even work with you to find the most convenient time to help out.
